How Can I Help?

My mission is to provide personalized guidance for students and their families in choosing a path to post-secondary success through self-discovery, academic support, and transition to the next level.
My plan is to meet students where they are and help them set goals based on their individual needs and characteristics to develop a timeline on a path that leads to successful transition into young adulthood.
I can provide service to students as early as the eighth grade and at any level of high school or beyond.

What are the advantages of hiring an educational consultant?
I have heard it said, "You don't know what you don't know." This is often true for students and parents as they begin the process of making what is one of the most important decisions of their lives: their postsecondary plans. As an educational consultant, I can help students outline plans for academic and career goals as well as selecting a college or technical program that is the right fit based on the student's individual interests, personality, needs, and academic profile. Personal assistance with the college admissions process and scholarships is an important service provided. . Consultants are knowledgeable and have much experience in the college application process, have visited many colleges, and can advise about scholarships and financial aid. Since students often respond better to an outside source., parents can be relieved of the constant need to remind the student of important tasks and deadlines Please contact me for more information about the types of services provided.

About Me

I am a retired educator with 38 years of experience. I hold a bachelor’s degree and two master’s degrees from Marshall University. I received the master’s degree in school counseling in 2006 and was a high school counselor for 15 years before retiring in 2022.

Advising and guiding students toward post-secondary opportunities was a most rewarding aspect of my position and I continue to enjoy hearing of the successes of my students in their chosen paths.

My husband passed away recently, but we raised two sons who are now successful adults and have given us 9 grandchildren. Though our sons are successful, I know that there were many things I did not know when they were in the process of planning their careers. If I had had the knowledge and experience I have today, my involvement and help to them would have been very different- a true example of “You don’t know what you don’t know”.
